Dignity Of Men And Women in Islam
Every human being, male female, held dignity that we should honor. Love, respect, self-esteem and contemplation are some of the characteristics that differentiate us from other creatures. Islam greatly advocates human honor. Regarding man and woman dignity, it has set the following rules.
Islam recognized the dignity of every human being, regardless of its colour, language and ethnicity. Regarding human origin the Holy Quran says

“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Aware.” Al Hujurat
This means no human being held any superiority over another on any reason except on the basis of righteousness.
Similarly Islam in explicit terms has sanctified the life, property and honor of one Muslim over another. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) during his Farewell Sermon said
“Verily, your blood, property and honor are sacred to one another (i.e., Muslims) like the sanctity of this day of yours (i.e., the day of Nahr or slaughtering of the animals of sacrifice), in this month of yours (the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah) and in this city of yours (the holy city of Makkah).”” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Islamic Civilization And Culture – Meaning And Vital Elements
An Islamic state is duty-bound to protect the life, property and dignity of its every subject irrespective of religion. The 2nd Pious Caliph Hazrat Umar-e-Farooq (RA) used to say, “Even if a dog dies within territorial jurisdiction of Muslim state, I will be held accountable for that.” In the process of retribution Islam has clearly set boundaries to protect society from imbalance and devastation. The Holy Quran says
“And therein We had ordained for them a life for a life, and an eye for an eye, and a nose for a nose, and an ear for an ear, and a tooth for a tooth and for all wounds, like for like. But whosoever foregoes it by way of charity, it will be for him expiation. Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are indeed the wrong-doers.” Al Maidah
The charm of Islam is that it thoroughly discussed both worldly and after life. For its followers it has answer to every human problem and guidance for success in the life hereafter. Islam is a complete religion.
